Police of Jilin Province cracked 373 cases concerning IPR infringements and counterfeits
Since 2019, public security organs of Jilin Province have harshly cracked down on crimes concerning manufacturing and selling products in livelihood areas, and IPR infringements. During epidemic prevention and control, Jilin police cracked a batch of cases and seized a number of counterfeit products, thus protecting the legal rights and interests of consumers.
In 2019, Department of Public Security of Jilin Province launched the “Lijian Action”for the fight of fake food and drugs, and “Kunlun” Action for the crackdown on crimes related to food, drugs and environment to promote the crackdown on IPR infringements and counterfeits. Public security organs of Jilin collected clues and focused the crackdown on crimes in key areas, such as food and drugs, consumer goods, household appliances and building materials, as well as agricultural materials and tools. The police uncovered 373 cases concerning IPR infringements and counterfeits, seized 492 suspects, destroyed 138 hideouts and detained over 100,000 items of infringing goods, involving 370 million yuan.
During epidemic prevention and control, Department of Public Security of Jilin Province deployed the special actions to fight the epidemic throughout the province. Acts of producing and selling counterfeit and inferior protective products, such as facial masks and disinfectant, IPR infringement, and production and sales of fake and inferior medicine needed in the treatment of epidemic were under harsh crackdown. So far, the public security organs in Jilin have handled 35 cases concerning materials for epidemic prevention and control and detained over 280,000 fake, inferior and three-no facial masks and over 30 tons of fake and substandard disinfectant, thus protecting the health and safety of the public.
Recently, Department of Public Security of Jilin Province deployed the crackdown across the province to concentrate on production and sale of fake farming supplies, especially seeds, pesticide and fertilizers, and handled related cases promptly with severe punishment, thus fostering strong deterrent for law violations concerning farming supplies.
