As now the World Cup Russia is underway, the “China-Russia Action”against IPR infringement goods of World Cup is also in full swing. On June 21, Shanghai Customs notified that 100,000 bracelets infringing upon the trademark of “WORLDCUP2018”and 4,000 key rings infringing upon the trademark of “RUSSIA2018” have been detained at the Pudong International Airport. Now, the case is under further investigation. This is another targeted crackdown on IPR infringement of World Cup in air transport channel.

Since this year, Shanghai Customs has tracked down 16 cases about infringement upon World Cup Russia -related IPRs, involving 157,400 items of infringement goods. The FIFA highly commended the work of Shanghai Customs on IPR protection, saying that Shanghai Customs conducts joint supervision over seaports and airports to target at the IPR infringing products with no place to hide.
