MPS released urgent notice to harshly crack crimes related to producing and selling fake and shoddy protective products
Recently, Ministry of Public Security (MPS) released an urgent notice, which requires the public security authorities at all levels nationwide to give full play to their role, and harshly crack crimes related to producing and selling fake and shoddy protective products in accordance with the deployment requirements of the CPC Central Committee, aiming to investigate and crack a number of major cases in a short time, and severely punish criminal gangs strictly in accordance with the laws, thus fostering strong deterrent and contributing to the fight of preventing and controlling the epidemic infectious disease.
It was stressed in the notice that the public security authorities at all levels should take quick actions, focus on face masks which is most needed, guarantee supplies of preventing and controlling the pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus, and strengthen crackdown measures. Ways of public tip-off should be adopted, and all-chain crackdown should be launched. Investigations should be carried out once the cross-regional clues are found. A zero-tolerance approach should be adopted towards violation and crimes.
It was required in the notice that the public security authorities at all levels should intensify the linkage and cooperation with market regulators and public health departments, establish a fast track for clue reporting and case delivery, and build a working mechanism of fast check for goods and materials used to prevent and control the epidemic infectious disease. Joints efforts should be made in areas of hotspot concerning cases of producing and selling fake products and areas which the public report most. Inter-department efforts should be strengthened. All kinds of publicity channels should be fully utilized, and the public awareness should be raised.
