The training workshop of Shanxi on the fight against IPR infringement and counterfeiting held in Taiyuan

From August 22 to 23, the Office of Shanxi Provincial Leading Group on the Fight against IPR Infringement and Counterfeiting held the training workshop. Lu Zhengmin, Deputy Head of Law Inspection Bureau under the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and Jia Yukui, Vice Director of the Development and Research Center of SAMR were invited to give a lecture.

Lu’s remarks centered on five aspects, including the functions of the Office of National Leading Group on the Fight against IPR Infringement and Counterfeiting, China’s progress made in the crackdown on IPR infringement and counterfeiting in recent years, current work situation and problems, the main work in 2019 and the next-step work direction.

Jia gave a lecture about the evaluation of anti-IPR infringement and anti-counterfeiting work by the country and indicated the existing problems in the 2018 performance assessment of Shanxi in 2018 and the precautions in future work.

Two lecturers encouraged the trainees to set a good example and fulfill the responsibilities in an effort to crack down on counterfeiting and IPR infringement, and achieve satisfactory work results at the end of the year. Qiao Baogui, Deputy Director of the Office of Shanxi Leading Group on the Fight against IPR Infringement and Counterfeiting reported the work in recent years, pointed out the weakness in the provincial anti-counterfeiting work and stressed the major tasks and measures to be taken in the second half of 2019.

During the training, the staff from the Development and Research Center of SAMR also had panel discussions with some trainees surrounding the status quo, unique practice and existing problems about the current crackdown on IPR infringement and counterfeiting as well as work recommendations.
