The national performance examination group visited Shandong for on-site examination
From January 24 to 25, Duan Yuping, Deputy Head of Copyright Administration under the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee led the first examination group to examine the work of Shandong on combatting the IPR infringement and counterfeiting in 2018. Wei Huaxiang, Deputy Secretary-General of Shandong People’s Government and Wang Jian, Deputy Director of the General Office of Shandong Government attended the event.
The examination group said that in view of the on-site examination result, Shandong made noticeable progress in the work against IPR infringement and counterfeiting. Next, the long-term mechanism is to be further improved. The crackdown on IPR infringement and counterfeiting is to be deepened. The significance of such crackdown effort should be fully recognized from the political level. Against the backdrop of institutional reform, key fields will be focused for the fight against IPR infringement and counterfeiting.
As of the end of 2018, Shandong handled over 16,000 cases of administrative law enforcement for the crackdown on IPR infringement and counterfeiting, imposed the fine of over 40 million yuan, destroyed 6 hideouts, transferred over 10 cases and uncovered over 800 criminal cases. All the punitive cases closed were disclosed to the public. No case of IPR infringement and counterfeiting in a systematic way and mass event of major social impact arising therefrom occurred, providing strong assurance for the promotion of sound provincial economic development and social harmony and stability.
