Ministry of Agriculture and other six government agencies launched the special operation for anti-fake agricultural materials

On March 30, seven government agencies jointly held the 2018 national teleconference on special operation for the crackdown on fake agricultural materials to summarize the work in 2017 and over the past five years and deploy the key work on anti-fake agricultural material in 2018, including the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA), the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuratorate, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Public Security, State Market Regulatory Administration and All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives.

Han Changfu, Minister of Agriculture emphasized that the requirements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council about work arrangement should be closely followed, more efforts should be made to supervise the agricultural material market, ensure the supply, quality and safety, guarantee the production needs of spring farming, maintain the legitimate rights and interests of farmers and take forceful measures to develop the agriculture thorough the quality and green promotion.

The meeting pointed out that since the 18th CPC National Congress, the authorities in different regions have been earnestly carrying out the decisions and arrangements of CPC Central Committee by working together in different levels and much progress has been made in the anti-faking work of agricultural materials. In 2017, the qualification ratio of seeds, veterinary drugs and feedstuff subject to random inspection reached 98%, 97% and 97.4% nationwide, up by 0.5,3.8 and 1.4 percentage points respectively as compared to that in 2013.

With efficient coordination between the authorities in agriculture, industry and commerce, quality inspection, public security, the procuratorates and the courts, 264,000 cases about counterfeit agricultural materials were looked into over the past five years. Iinspectingion of the enterprises and markets records 5.9 million times and 1.02 million times respectively. 3.4 billion yuan of economic loss was recovered for the farmers.
