International IP Business Summit 2017 held in Beijing
On December 12, the International IP Business Summit 2017, hosted by China Chamber of International Commerce and jointly organized by IP Service Center of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT)and Intellectual Property Committee,ICC,China, was held in Beijing, with the theme of this summit being “IP Protection and Business Environment Improvement”.
At the morning session for keynote speeches, Jiang Zengwei, Head of CCPIT gave a keynote speech titled “Jointly Build A New IP Eco-system with Global Competitiveness”. Jiang said that IPR protection is critical to business environment improvement, as it concerns not only the interests of of Chinese and foreign enterprises and world economic order, but also the big picture of China’s innovation-oriented country construction. He advocated that the government departments, international organizations, business and industrial enterprises and service providers should work together to create a more equitable, open, inclusive and universal IP legal environment and an international, law-based and facilitative business environment. He also called for the industry and business community to "actively offer comments and suggestions to promote the improvement of IPR rule system", "enhance communication and cooperation in preventing and resolving the IPR-related dispute risks", "promote close government-business ties to improve law enforcement and right protection" and "push forward the industrial self-discipline to maintain fair competition environment".
The speakers of the summit included Chen Fuli, Director-General of Treaty and Law Department with MOFCOM,, Yu Cike, Head of Copyright Management Department of SIPO, Benoit Lory, Minister- Counselor of EU Delegation to China, Jacob Parker, Deputy Head of US China Business Council, Lin Junqiang, Deputy Head of Trademark Bureau with SAIC, Pei Xiaoying, Vice Counsel of Science and Technology Department with AQSIQ, Zhao Meisheng, Deputy Director-General of Patent Management Department with SIPO, Jack Chang, QBPC Vice Chairman and Sun Jun, Vice President of Alibaba Group.
