In order to put in place the Plan of Task Division and Work Progress about Opinions on Tightened Patent Protection and further improve the cross-regional mechanism of administrative law enforcement coordination and joint enforcement on patents along the Yangtze River Economic Zone, Chongqing Intellectual Property Office, entrusted by SIPO, held the work meeting of 11 provinces and cities in this area on joint and coordinated patent-related law enforcement on September 19 in Chongqing. The relevant staff from IPOs in these 11 provinces and cities attended the meeting and signed Memorandum of Coordinated and Joint Law Enforcement of 11 Provinces and Cities in the Yangtze River Zone.

It is learned that the Yangtze River Economic Zone covers Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, Hunan, Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan and Guizhou. During this work meeting, the IP offices in the zone signed Memorandum of Coordinated and Joint Law Enforcement of 11 Provinces and Cities in the Yangtze River Zone, with an aim to jointly combat and curb patent infringement and counterfeiting and create favorable environment of IPR for the coordinated and innovative work at the provincial and city level in the Yangtze River Economic Zone.

Chongqing has 210 certified patent law enforcers with at least 2 staff for each district or county

Staff from Chongqing IP Office said that Chongqing attaches great importance to IPR protection. During the “Twelfth Five-Year Plan”planperiod, the share of patent grants in ten strategic and emerging industries was tripled to 45%, so is the value of patented products in the industries above the designated scale, reaching 300 billion yuan. The IPR protection kept improving.
