AQSIQ Released “Refreshing Breeze Action” Report

On May 18, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) released a report on the Refreshing Breeze Action against IPR infringement and counterfeiting in merchandise exports.

Under the deployment of Refreshing Breeze Action Program for the Protection of Overseas Image Concerning Made in China, AQSIQ carried out the action on key goods exported to Africa, Arab countries, Latin America and countries along “One Belt, One Road”.

From 2015 to 2016, AQSIQ and its local branches handled 311 administrative punishment cases, leading to the fine of 3.73 million Yuan and confiscation of 900,000 counterfeit items.

In 2015, AQSIQ started to build an overseas protection and anti-counterfeiting network, which has included 14 countries, such as Sudan, Kenya, Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh. It is expected to cover 30% countries worldwide by 2020. In 2017, AQSIQ worked out a plan to include Chinese main export enterprises, agents of export enterprises and service points located overseas in the monitering network, with an aim to collect information about counterfeits from multi-channels and fight IPR infringement and counterfeiting from all directions.
