Zhoushan Customs detained 18,000 boxes of counterfeit shoe polish

On March 6th, Zhoushan Customs detained 18,000 boxes of counterfeit shoe polish suspected of infringing upon the trademark of KIWI. An official from Zhoushan Customs indicated that the shoe polish was labeled “KIME” mark, which is confusingly similar to the trademark of KIWI.

After comparing with the record of “KIWI” trademark and contacting the right holder for confirmation, officials of Zhoushan Customs identified this batch of goods counterfeit. The right holder of “KIWI” trademark thought this batch of goods is suspected of infringing upon the exclusive right of their trademark and filed an application for IPR protection with Zhoushan Customs.

It was learned that Zhoushan Customs would carry out further investigation and confiscate those goods once they were found infringing.
