On December 25, 2018, Lu Zhengmin attended the national work conference on police-business coordination in anti-counterfeiting of liquor industry On December 25, 2018, Lu Zhengmin, Deputy Director of the Office of National Leading Group on Fight against IPR Infringement and Counterfeiting and Deputy Head of Law Enforcement Inspection Bureau of the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) attended the national work conference on police-business coordination in the anti-counterfeiting of liquor industry held by in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province.

Concerning the new characteristics of IPR infringement and counterfeiting-related crimes, Lu stressed that further coordination with the public security authorities is required to advance the cross-regional and inter-department law enforcement, effective linkage of administrative law enforcement and criminal justice, enhance the government-business cooperation and crack down on the acts of IPR infringement and counterfeiting. The liquor companies should fulfill the responsibilities as a major player to ensure the product quality, regulate the acts of dealers, publish the information about dealers and the formal sales channel as well as produce and sell good-quality liquor. Also, they should enhance the awareness of IPR protection and assist the government departments in purifying the market environment. Lu also called for the concerted efforts from different social communities to jointly create a safe consumption environment for the public to feel relieved in the purchase and consumption of reliable liquor.

Zhang Zuoliang, Deputy Head of Security Administration under Ministry of Public Security and Yang Tongshun, Deputy Head of Public Security Department of Shanxi attended the meeting and delivered remarks. The representatives from Beijing Public Security Bureau, some liquor enterprises and Alibaba gave presentations. Over 130 participants were present at the meeting, including the public security authorities in different provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions as well as over 20 white liquor producers.
