Market regulation authorities targeted illegal acts of manufacturing and selling fake and shoddy preventive products
On February 8th, officials from State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) said that more than 320 cases concerning the manufacturing and selling of counterfeit and substandard preventive products, such as facial masks, have been handled by the market regulation authorities. Efforts will continue to combat related acts.
Yang Hongcan, Head of Law Enforcement Inspection Bureau under SAMR at the press conference of the joint prevention and control mechanism of the State Council said that since the outbreak of novelcoronavirus pneumonia (NCP), SAMR carried out a series of work centering on combating illegal acts of producing and selling counterfeit and inferior preventive products, such as the selective examination over the quality of facial masks, and prioritizing and quickly handling cases related to the prevention and control of NCP. Market regulation authorities, cooperating with other departments, have handled a number of cases. Over 400,000 law enforcement people were dispatched, 10,000 or more merchants were investigated and more than 320 cases were handled.
