NHC: the 2020 working meeting on the national food safety standards and of risk monitoring evaluationheld in Beijing

On January 16th,the 2020 working meeting on the national food safety standards and risk monitoring evaluation was held in Beijing. Li Bin, Deputy Director of National Health Commission of PRC attended the meeting and delivered remarks. Four provinces, including Hebei, and related units exchanged their experience.

It was indicated at the meeting that marked progress was made in the national food safety standards, evaluation of risk monitoring, and nutrition-related work. New achievements were made in standard management. The role of risk controlrelated to food safety was fully put into effect. National Nutrition Plan and Health China Action with Reasonable Dieting were launched, playing a significant role in guaranteeing the health of the public, strengthening safety regulation over food and promoting the continuous healthy development of the society and economy.

It was required at the meeting to follow the guidance of Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, learn the gist of the fourth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee, center on constructing system building with the most rigorous standards, establish and improve safety system. The focus should be given onto capacity building of the evaluation system, enhance the technological support of risk monitoring evaluation for the governance system of food safety. Also,the National Nutrition Plan and Health China Action with reasonable dieting and tasks in key areas should be solidly implemented.
