Beijing and Tianjin IP offices communicate on IPR work

On April 12, Yang Dongqi, Secretary of Leading Party Group of Beijing IP Office presided over the reception meeting to welcome Tianjian counterpart led by Wu Ting, Head of Tianjin IP Office, and accompanied the delegation in the visit to China (Beijing) IPR Protection Center. Both parties had a meeting later, attended by Lan Zhaoqi and Guo Wenqiang, Deputy Heads of Tianjin Office, Pan Xinsheng, Deputy Head of Beijing IP Office and Zhou Liquan, Deputy Inspector of Beijing IP Office, as well as relevant officials of both administrations.

At the workshop, Pan Xinsheng updated the IP work in Beijing. Zhou Liquan debriefed the IPR protection work of the 2019 Beijing International Horticultural Exhibition. The official in charge of IPR Protection Center introduced the development of the center. The officials from policy and regulation section, IP coordination section, IP utilization promotion sector, IP protection section, Zhongguancun IP promotion bureau and IPR protection assistance center talked about their respective functions and work progress. Various topics were discussed, including the institutional functions, IPR promotion and protection, trademark and geographical indication management and strengthened Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei cooperation.

Wu Ting said that Beijing IP Office has achieved good results in promoting IP development, advancing the market-based operation and building an urban joint mechanism. It is hoped to enhance communication, carry out joint action and strengthen cooperation in promoting the service sectoral development and reinforcing the coordination in administrative law enforcement, so as to jointly facilitate the better development of IP cause in Beijing and Tianjin and create a better business environment.

As Yang Dongqi said, Beijing IP Office will continue to cooperate closely with Tianjin IP Office. According to the requirement about area location and focusing on existing problems, both offices will leverage IPR in serving the economic and social development of two cities. Also, Yang hoped that both sides can improve cooperation, learn from each other and make common progress to boost the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei.
