The 2018 Market Supervision and Regulation Forum held in Guangzhou
On September 6, jointly hosted by State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) and Guangdong People’s Government, the 2018 Market Supervision and Regulation Forum was held in Guangzhou and the “face to face on market regulation” dialogue was held in the afternoon on the same day. Many experts, government officials and business representatives had in-depth discussions surrounding the “fair competition and high-quality development”. Among others, the achievements of Guangdong in market regulation and the future development plan of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area are the two highlights.
At the dialogue, Yang Hongcan, Head of Law Enforcement Inspection Bureau under SAMR, Wu Zhenguo, Head of Anti-Monopoly Bureau of SAMR, Mai Jiaomeng, Head of Guangdong Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce, Shi Jianzhong, Deputy Head of China University of Political Science and Law, Huang Yong, Professor of University of International Business and Economics and Huang Jianlong, Chief Representative of LKK Health Products Group attended the panel discussion and discussed the topics of competition policy, the examination system for fair competition, Anti-Monopoly Law, the newly revised Anti-Unfair Competition Law and the institutional reform of market regulation from legal, policy and business accountability perspectives, based on the theme of “fair competition and high-quality development”.
As is learned, the Forum lasts two days. Besides the online live streaming of “face to face” dialogue, there are also sessions of “authorative publication”, “keynote and thematic speeches” and “sub-forum”. The government officials, experts and business representatives offer their thoughts and suggestions on implementation of competition policy, building a fair and orderly competition environment and boosting the high-quality economic development.
