Anti-fake and IPR protection work goes smoothly at the 15th China-ASEAN Expo
In order to maintain the order of the 15th China-ASEAN Expo, combat IPR infringement and counterfeiting and safeguard the participants' interests and consumption safety, the Office of the Leading Group on Fighting against IPR Infringement and Counterfeiting of Guangxi Autonomous Region (or the Office) takes the lead to organize the local public security department, forestry department, maritime and fishery department, industry and commerce administration, quality supervision administration, food and drug administration, intellectual property office and Nanning customs to set up an IPR protection and anti-fake joint law enforcement group for the 15th China-ASEAN Expo.
The joint law enforcement group will be stationed at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center and the Guangxi Exhibition Pavilion from September 12 to 15, 2018. It will carry out inspection and examination over the products for exhibition, receive and handle complaints from the exhibitors and participants, crack down on IPR infringement and counterfeiting and safeguard the order of the exhibition and the rights and interests of consumers.
According to the work plan, the joint law enforcement group carried out pre-exhibition joint inspection. The joint law enforcement group led by Xujin, Deputy Director of the Commerce Department of Guangxi and Head of the group inspected the exhibition halls on September 10, 2018, with a focus on the importation of exhibits and in a bid to intensify the inspection before the exhibition and keep the IPR infringement or counterfeit goods out of the expo.
This is the fifth time for the Office to led the work on anti-IPR infringement and counterfeiting at the China-ASEAN Expo site. On one hand, the related work focuses on fighting against fake and shoddy commodities, especially those products made of agarwood, ivory, rhinoceros horns and other endangered species, and those of frequent complaint like jewelry and jade as well as the counterfeit food and drugs endangering physical health so as to promote safe consumption. On the other hand, the crackdown will be on illegal exhibitions and booth reselling to maintain a good brand image of the China-ASEAN Expo.
