The on-site work meeting on improving the quality and safety of catering industries held in Chengdu
On June 27 -28, the national on-site work meeting on improving the quality and safety of catering industries was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. At the meeting, the previous work was summarized, the on-site observation and experience communication was conducted and the study and deployment for the next-step work was promoted. Sun Meijun, Deputy Head of State Administration for Market Regulation attended the meeting and delivered remarks.
The meeting indicated that since the Opinions on Improving the Quality and Safety of Catering Industry was jointly released by 14 government agencies including the Office of Food Safety Commission under the State Council, etc., the different regions have been continuously enhancing the regular supervision andpunishment over illegal and violativeviolative acts.Thus, the reform and innovation have been increasingly deepened and the system and mechanism have been improved. With the responsibility system basically in place, the work on rectifying the catering pollution and ensuring the catering quality and safety has been further strengthened.
The officials in charge of the local food and drug administrations of 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corp, staff from MOFCOM, the National Health Commission and China Cuisine Association attended the meeting.
