Tibet achieved noticeable results in fighting against IPR infringement and counterfeiting in 2017
In 2017, under the guidance of the leading group on fight against IPR infringement and counterfeiting of Tibet Autonomous Region, the 29 member units have performed their duties and worked together to strengthen the law enforcement for the fight against IPR infringement and counterfeiting and enhanced the market supervision and concentrated rectification by taking a series of active and targeted measures. Good results have been achieved across the autonomous region in combating the IPR infringement and counterfeiting, which got wide recognition from the public.
Joint harsh crackdown on counterfeiting by various authorities
Based on the clue from the concentrated campaign initiated by Ministry of Public Security, the police of Tibet assisted the counterparts in Liaoning, Shandong and Hunan in launching the investigation and evidence collection concerning the 21 cases of registered trademark forging and goods counterfeiting. The food and drug supervision authorities of Tibet formulated and improved the Work System of Tibet Autonomous Region on the Linkage of Administrative Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice for Fight against IPR Infringement and Counterfeiting in Food and Drugs. Tibet Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau launched the "Fairwind Action" to improve quality and protect legitimate rights concerning the export goods. With more efforts on anti-counterfeiting law enforcement regarding the quality of import and export goods, the consumers' rights and interests have been protected and better service can be provided for the society.
Highly coordinated IPR protection
Recently, the cultural and law enforcement team of Tibet Autonomous Region launched the inspection on IPR law enforcement. 1,129 business entities have been inspected, among which 8 were ordered to make rectification and 6 were under punishment on site; 11 cases about imposing penalty have been closed, involving 50,550 yuan.
The campaigns produce a good deterrent effect
Since 2017, the quality supervision department of Tibet Autonomous Region has launched frequent law enforcement inspection during the holidays and festivals. The special law enforcement inspection actions have been carried out within the region concerning the quality of special equipment and livelihood measurement goods. The "Lijian" Action of quality inspection has been deepened, targeting at agricultural material, kids' toys, ethnic specialty products, building material and automotive spare parts.
