Vice President of SPC met the delegation of WIPO Chinese office

Recently, Luo Dongchuan, Vice President of Supreme People’s Court (SPC) and Head of IPR Court under SPC met with the delegation of World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Chinese Office led by Chen Hongbin, Office Director.

Luo Dongchuan expressed warm welcome for the visit of the delegation led by Chen Hongbin. Luo briefed on the establishment and operation of IPR Court and thanked the WIPO for their support. He indicated that to set up an IPR court under the SPC is an important strategic decision made by China in building an IPR powerhouse and a world technical powerhouse, a major measure to deepen the judicial reform and a historic breakthrough of China’s IPR and litigation legal system, which is of profound significance to accelerate the modernization of IPR judicial system and capability. Luo also hoped to further strengthen the communication and cooperation between the SPC and the WIPO so as to jointly create a sound legal environment for technical innovation.

Chen Hongbin thanked Luo for his welcome and hoped to strengthen communication between the WIPO and SPC’s IPR Court. He looked forward to seeing more cooperation between two parties in the efforts of internationalization and informatization. Wang Chuang, Deputy Head of IPR Court and Zhu Li, Chief Judge of IPR Court also attended the meeting.
