Sheng Changyu met with John Sandage in Beijing

On January 15,Commissioner of the State Intellectual Property Office of the P.R.C (SIPO) Shen Changyu met with the delegation led by John Sandage, Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), in Beijing. Shen briefly shared China’s new progress and achievements in terms of IPR creation, utilization, protection, management and international cooperation and looked back on the cooperation between SIPO and WIPO, in particular about enhancing cooperation concerning “the Belt and Road”. He hoped that both sides can further deepen cooperation.

Sandage congratulated China on the achievements made by China in IPR protection and looked forward to enhancing cooperation with SIPO on PCT system promotion, IPR arbitration and mediation service, capacity building and staff communication oriented towards developing countries and the countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”.

During his visit, Sandage also met with He Zhimin, Deputy Head of SIPO to talk about the specific cooperation under Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).
