AQSIQ Head Zhi Shuping signed a cooperation agreement on quality inspection under the witness of Chinese premier and Canadian prime minister
On December 4, under the witness of Chinese premier Li Keqiang and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Zhi Shuping, Minister of General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) signed the MOU of Food Import and Export between AQSIQ of China and Canadian Food Inspection Agency with John McCallum, Canadian Ambassador to China at the Great Hall of the People. The MOU clarified that some agricultural products made in China and Canada have met the access requirements of import countries for inspection and quarantine and can engage in the foreign trade.
As an important outcome of the 2nd Sino – Canada Annual Dialogue between heads of government, the signing of this MOU further enriches the connotation in the strategic partnership between China and Canada, which will promote the practical cooperation of two countries in trade and agriculture and further improve the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
